The Guardian Fund Goal

This First Nations Guardians Fund provides financial resources for First Nations-led, on the ground, community-based stewardship initiatives and regional Guardian networks. The First Nations Guardians Fund is an expression of NGN’s goal to support First Nations working to exercise their rights and responsibilities to the land, waters, and ice of their traditional territories by providing funding for First Nations-led, on-the-ground, community-based stewardship initiatives and networks.

Applicants are encouraged to design their Guardians initiatives based on the unique interests, needs, capacity and laws of their Nation. The Guardians Fund is designed to support all types of eligible initiatives, whether they have a specific focus (e.g. focus on one area or species) or take a more general approach.
